Asbestos Awareness training.

Course includes all materials, course booklet, tool box talk for Supervisors & certificates of attendance.  Further to this, a copy of the quiz/test undertaken by candidates during the course to accertain their level of understanding is also provided and employers can keep this with their compliance records. 

A one day course aimed at those personnel that as a job role may come in to contact with asbestos, giving them an awareness of what to look for, and what to do about it if they find asbestos (or potential asbestos) when they are on site.Type your paragraph here.

Regulation 10 - Information, instruction and training of the regulations has been updated and now details more specific requirements for the provision of adequate information, instruction and training for any employees who may come into contact with asbestos due to the nature of their work activities

The Health and Safety Executive has produced specific guidance on the requirements of Regulation 10 and have highlighted the types of training required for the different trades that may either work directly with or come into contact with asbestos. The type/level of training and corresponding work activities to which they relate have been outlined below:

(Category 3) Asbestos awareness training. This is required for those persons who are liable to disturb asbestos whilst carrying out their normal everyday work, or who may influence how work is carried out, such as:


  • general maintenance staff;
  • electricians;
  • plumbers;
  • gas fitters;
  • painters and decorators;
  • joiners;
  • plasterers;
  • demolition workers;
  • construction workers;
  • roofers;
  • heating and ventilation engineers;
  • telecommunications engineers;
  • fire and burglar alarm installers;
  • computer installers;
  • architects, building surveyors and other such professionals;
  • shop fitters.
